Privacy Policy
Applies to the iOS app StepRing for iPhone and Apple Watch (the “App”), published by ITechX Solutions L.L.C-FZ (“we”, “us”).
Effective date: 14 October 2026
This policy explains what information the App uses, what it collects, why, and the choices you have. The App does not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or contact details.
1. Health data
With your permission, the App reads the following from Apple Health: steps, walking and running distance, flights climbed, active energy, wheelchair data (pushes and distance), walking speed, step length, walking steadiness and resting heart rate. These four are read only if you open the Walking health section and allow access. They are processed on your device under the same rules. You choose which of these to allow, and you can change that at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.
This data is processed on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is not sent to ITechX Solutions L.L.C-FZ or to any third party, and it is not used for advertising. We operate no servers that hold it, and the App does not sync it through iCloud. The App’s own activity log may be included in your device backup, which is managed by Apple.
The App does not write anything to Apple Health. A CSV export of your data is created only when you ask for it, and goes only where you choose to send it.
2. Motion & Fitness
The App uses your device’s step counter (Motion & Fitness) to keep its widgets up to date and to show your steps when Apple Health is not available. This data stays on your device.
3. Personal details
You may enter your weight, height and age range to make the App’s estimates more accurate. This is optional. These details are stored only on your device.
4. Information collected
Separately from the data above, which stays on your device, the App collects the following:
- Device ID — The advertising identifier (IDFA), read only if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Purpose: Measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaigns that promote the App.
- Purchase History — The fact and amount of a purchase or of the start of an introductory period. Apple handles the transaction itself. Purpose: Measure advertising campaigns and understand how the App is used.
- Product Interaction — Events describing how you use the App's interface, such as which screens you open. Purpose: Improve the App and measure the advertising campaigns that promote it.
- Crash Data — Crash reports and diagnostic stack traces generated when the App stops unexpectedly. Purpose: Find and fix stability problems.
- Performance Data — Technical measurements such as launch times. Purpose: Keep the App fast and reliable.
Health and fitness data is not collected.
5. App Tracking Transparency
On first launch, iOS asks whether you allow the App to track you. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not used. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
6. Tracking
Apple defines tracking as linking data from the App with data from other companies’ apps and websites for advertising or advertising measurement. The App’s privacy manifest declares that it tracks (NSPrivacyTracking), and the only tracking domain it declares is ep1.facebook.com, used by the Meta SDK. iOS blocks connections to a declared tracking domain unless you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt (section 5).
- Used for tracking: Device ID, Purchase History and Product Interaction (section 4), for measuring the advertising campaigns that promote the App.
- Not used for tracking: Crash Data and Performance Data, which are used only to keep the App working.
- Not collected: Health & Fitness data. It stays on your device (section 1).
7. Purchases
All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details; the App receives only the status of your subscription. The fact and amount of a purchase, or of the start of an introductory period, are shared with Meta to measure the App’s advertising campaigns, and with Google Firebase for analytics.
8. Analytics and diagnostics
The App sends events describing how its interface is used, together with crash and diagnostic data. Health data, the goal you choose, and your weight, height and age are never included in analytics.
The App also downloads a small settings file from itechx.dev. This request contains no personal or health data.
9. Third-party services
The App uses only the following providers, each governed by its own privacy policy.
- Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases (StoreKit) and access to Apple Health (HealthKit) — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Meta — Facebook SDK: measurement of installs and in-app events from the advertising campaigns that promote the App — https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
- Google Firebase — Analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
10. Advertising
The App contains no advertising.
11. Children
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Data retention
Analytics, diagnostics and measurement data are retained according to our providers’ standard retention periods. Data stored on your device remains until you delete it or delete the App.
13. Your rights
Depending on your location (for example, the EEA and UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to its use for advertising measurement. The App Tracking Transparency setting described in section 5 is the fastest way to control the advertising identifier. For anything else, contact us at the address below. We do not sell personal information for money.
14. Changes
We may update this policy; the “Effective date” above reflects the latest version.
